Sometimes we are lucky enough to visit some really unique properties that we think our clients will simply adore.
Lou Calen is a magnificent three-hectare country estate in the heart of Cotignac, a traditional village certified “Most beautiful village in France”, located one hour from the French Riviera, the Gorges du Verdon and the Lac de Sainte Croix. Easily accessible from both Nice and Marseille airports (around 1.5 hours) or Aix-en-Provence TGV station (1 hour).
With its 34-room luxury hotel, restaurant which has been awarded a Michelin green star, summer wine bar and craft brewery, Lou Calen’s aim is to provide guests with an immersive experience, and explore the local area, to discover the celebrated Provençal way of life.
Other facilities include 3 swimming pools, a tennis court, 2 petanque courts a summer wine bar and a brewpub. The estate’s gardens are beautiful and include typically Provençal features such as a lavender field, olive groves and a kitchen garden. There is also an art centre featuring 3 exhibits per year.
Opening in June 2024 is a second restaurant (bistrot style) and a pastis bar.
We love the fact that you are just a 2 minute walk down into the village square of Cotignac where there are plenty of lovely restaurants, cafes and shops. There are lots of activities nearby on offer for both families and groups of friends, which the lovely team at Lou Calen will be only too happy with help with.
Finally, Cotignac is also home to the Maison Mirabeau winery, producing fabulous rose and gin – not to be missed!
